Ever since coming back on here after 3 years or so, I've noticed a dramatic increase in anime style drawings. (Especially in the "Drawing" section.) Now, I am not a big fan of anime and in fact, I can count the anime shows I do like on one hand. I'm sure those who so happen to browse through this will be like "You sucks! ANIME IS TEH SHID!" or some other dribble, but allow me to explain myself. Anime is the product of those clever Japanese who probably got tired of being detailed like Disney or comic book artist are and decided to simplify the human form. Thus was born the art of anime which has over the years has evolved through various artist or has been horribly degraded by awful shows.

Now don't get me wrong, there are some talented people out there who can draw some nice looking anime characters and whatnot, but after seeing so much of it, where is the value? Sure you can make that man look like a total chick, but so have a hundred million others. Why not take what you learned from anime and change it, morph it, and hell....do a extreme make over! Originality is a pain in the ass to do, believe me, but how the hell are you going to do it if you don't try.

(I will admit I tried to learn how to draw people from anime books, but I have stopped drawing people entirely until I can actually draw people better.)
